Unfortunately closed due to "Corona"

The dishes made from animal products are creative and sound delicious! Friends of home-style cuisine will get their money's worth here. But: The Waldgasthof advertises its "slightly different" menu, mostly vegetarian dishes and vegetables from the nearby organic farm. So we expected at least one vegan dish on the menu. The willingness to veganize vegetarian dishes was there on the part of the wait staff, but according to the kitchen it would have been too cumbersome for all dishes. So we unfortunately got nothing. Therefore: Dear Waldgasthof: We would also like to have at least one vegan option for future hikers in transit so that they don't get hungry on the route :)

The Waldgasthof provides rooms in the simplest category. Toilet and shower are on the corridor, but everything is very clean and made with love. certainly not a place for everyone. But if you just like it, and value it in a friendly and warm manner, this is not the wrong place. dinner is served from thursday to saturday, and on sunday there are coffees and cakes until noon and afternoons.

Something unusual is the combination of a more homely look of the rooms and the unconventional, super-friendly staff. We felt very comfortable there. The narrow, but interesting menu from Schnitzelvariationen to vegetarian we really liked - and the abundant flavored Rhönwurz also ;-)

This is a special place. It's worth a visit if you're ready to leave familiar paths and get involved. Breaded comfrey leaves with goat's cream cheese are not available every day. Here you can taste the Rhön.

Delicious food, especially suitable for vegetarians and people who pay attention to what you eat. Lovingly decorated in winter with Christmas balls hanging from the ceiling, romantic. Homemade jams without gelling sugar, very tasty.

Had to, when we wanted to eat there. But because I know it from the past and I felt it very well, from the food and ambience, I forgive four stars.

This quaint restaurant is nice to stop off. However, you have to expect a slow operation. Qualitatively good, but one expects something more at "Gasthof" ... Kitchen was at 15 o'clock too ... and an unpleasant smell on the toilet.

Enchanted and enchanting place in the middle of the Wasserkuppe nature reserve. Inexpensive and very friendly. Restaurant from Thursday evening 5pm to Sunday afternoon. Nice and clean rooms

We were there for a weekend with about 25 people. This is a very personal, small, rustic inn. That may not be everyone's taste. But the attention to detail is visible everywhere. The operators are happy to provide information about the history on request. The dishes were vegetarian and very tasty prepared with a personal touch. The rooms are simple, clean and functional. The service was friendly, personal and accommodating. Everyone was happy. A Sunday afternoon excursion to drink coffee with delicious home-baked cakes is worthwhile.

We went here for dinner with a large group. Everyone was thrilled, both by the extremely delicious and lovingly arranged food (vegetarian or with meat - there was something for everyone) as well as by the friendly and warm service. Thank you for the great evening!
